On March 12, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization (SASO) issued a notification: The mandatory enforcement date for the standards regarding the harmonization of charging ports for smartphones and electronic devices—specifically the mentioned standards “SASO IEC 62680-1-2:2023 and SASO IEC 62680-1-3:2023”, which was scheduled on January 1, 2026, has been extended to May 1, 2026.

Effective from this new date:

• No Certificate of Conformity shall be issued for products covered by this circular unless they fully meet these requirements.

• Rejection of any Shipment Certificate request based on Certificates of Conformity issued before 01/05/2026 that do not comply with these requirements.

• Headsets

• Headphones
