On March 18, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization (SASO) issued a notification: It is necessary for all CBs to verify the validity of the Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) service authorization issued by the Communication, Space & Technology Commission (CST) for the applying entity, prior to issuing a Certificate of Conformity (PCoC) or a Shipment Certificate (SCoC) for products related to satellite connectivity devices or satellite internet services, including antennas, modems, or any accessories that are part of the operating system.

As SASO will conduct random sampling and review of the technical files through SABER platform in order to verify the extent to which the CBs comply with the provisions of this circular. Necessary actions will be taken against any CBs that violates the instructions stated in this circular.

To this end, we remind all clients: effective immediately, when submitting applications for certification of the aforementioned products, please ensure you have a valid NTN service authorization issued by the CST ready in advance to avoid delays or rejection of your certificate due to missing documents.
