Helsinki, 15 December 2025 - In its December meeting, ECHA’s Member State Committee (MSC) agreed to identify n-hexane as a substance of very high concern, SVHC, a first neurotoxic case of equivalent level of concern (ELOC). Another substance, 4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol and its salts, was identified without the committee’s involvement.  

ECHA will add both substances to the Candidate List of substances of very high concern in February 2026.
