• Electronic Submissions: Reports must be submitted through the Secure Substance Tracking System (SSTS) by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on March 1, 2025.

• Mail Submissions: Paper reports must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2025.

The EPA strongly encourages establishments to utilize the e-reporting option via SSTS, which offers a streamlined process and immediate confirmation of submission status. Establishments can verify their report’s status by logging into SSTS and checking the “Submission History” for Form 3540-16. If the status reads “Accepted by EPA” or “Awaiting EPA Review,” no further action is required unless the EPA contacts you directly for additional information.
