New Toy Standard GB 6675-2014 Effected Already

To ensure safety and quality of children's toys that sold in China, Standardization Administration of P.R. China (SAC) amended GB 6675-2003. The new standard GB 6675-2014 was released on May 6, 2014 and will be enforced from January 1, 2016. All children’s toy on the China market shall comply with the new standard from the effective date. GB 6675-2003 will be withdrawn accordingly.

In comparison to GB 6675-2003, the major changes are summarized as follow:

Major changes in Physical and Mechanical Part:

※ Acoustic and magnetic components requirements are newly added.

Major changes in Flammability Part:

※ Prohibited materials for toys are updated.

※ Test methods are revised for soft-filled toys, costumes, toys to be worn on the head and toys to be intended to be entered by a child.

Major changes in chemical Parts:

※ New phthalate requirement added.(See Details in table 2)

※ sets forth different element migration limits on modeling clay and finger paint.(See Details in table 1)
