In addition to SASO previous generalization containing the adoption of the updated standard specifications (SASO IEC 62680-1-2:2017, SASO IEC 62680-1-3:2017) and unifying the types of ports for chargers for smart phones and electronic devices, and in order to facility the application and the adoption of the updated standards on the importers and suppliers, SASO has updated the application dates referred in SASO previous generalization dated 15/05/2024 to the following:

1) All new requirements for the products listed in (Annex 1) will be verified starting from January 1, 2025.

2) All CBs are obligated to review all valid certificates of conformity issued before January 1, 2025, to verify that this requirement is met and the proof shall be attached in the technical file for each certificate of conformity issued through the Saber electronic platform.

3) All CBs are obligated to provide SASO with a list of valid certificates of conformity that have not modify their status with the new updates standards starting from January 1, 2025, in order to be canceled and stop the issuance of its shipment certificates.

4) Starting from January 1, 2025, SABER will carry out random checks through the Saber platform to verify that the Conformity Assessment Bodies meet this and will take the necessary legal measures with the non-compliant Conformity Assessment Bodies.
