Increase knowledge! Automotive Electronics Council AEC-Q102 VS IEC 60810-2017 standard comparison!
Publisher:Admin  Source:  Date:2023/5/10

Automotive Electronics Council (AEC):

The Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) is a non-profit organization composed of automotive electronics manufacturers and suppliers. Its members include world-renowned automotive electronics companies, such as Daimler, Ford, BMW, General Motors, Nissan, Renault, etc.

The primary purpose of AEC is to develop and promote standards for automotive electronic components. These standards cover many aspects, including the quality, reliability and environmental tolerance of electronic components. These standards allow automakers and suppliers to adhere to the same standard in the manufacturing process, thereby improving the standardization and reliability of the entire automotive electronics industry.

Among the AEC standards, the most important are AEC-Q100 and AEC-Q101. They are the most important standards for designing and producing semiconductor components for automobiles. The AEC-Q100 standard specifies the robustness testing and reliability qualities required for integrated circuits in harsh automotive operating environments. The AEC-Q101 standard further specifies the reliability requirements and applicable tests for discrete semiconductor components.

In addition, AEC has also formulated standards for other automotive electronic components, such as AEC-Q102 (optoelectronic semiconductors), AEC-Q103 (automotive sensors), AEC-Q104 (multi-chip modules) and AEC-Q200 (passive components) wait. These standards enable the automotive electronics industry to achieve higher quality and reliability, and provide consumers with safer and more stable automotive electronics products.
