The recently released EK9-BE77v3 resolution requires that battery-powered products (including battery-powered machines, handheld tools, and garden tools) must comply with IEC / EN "Mono-Battery with Alkaline or Non-Acid Electrolyte and Relevant provisions of "Safety requirements for battery packs and portable sealed single accumulator batteries and battery packs" and UN38.3 " United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Test and Standard Manual-38.3 Lithium Batteries".

The German official agency ZLS released two EK9 resolutions on battery-driven products on March 9, 2020:

EK9-BE-77(v4) ：

• Nickel battery system needs to meet IEC / EN 62133-1;

• The lithium battery system needs to meet IEC / EN 62133-2 and UN 38.3

Exception: For products covered by EN 62841, the battery pack only needs to meet UN 38.3, and the battery cell still needs to meet the above requirements. Note: The old version EN 62133: 2013 has expired on March 14, 2020. Please promptly remind suppliers to upgrade the test version.

EK9-BE-91(v3) ：

• Nickel battery-powered drive-driven machinery, power tools and garden tools, batteries must meet IEC / EN 62133-1, battery management system (BMS) in accordance with EN 62841-1 Appendix K assessment;

• Lithium battery-powered machinery, power tools, and garden tools. The batteries must meet IEC / EN 62133-2. The battery management system (BMS) is evaluated in accordance with Annex K of EN 62841-1. In addition, the BMS system must include the following monitoring, and The performance levels of the three monitoring circuits satisfy PL = c.
