On 21 Feb. 2020, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) published a new version for the electric toy safety standard EN IEC 62115：2020 + A11：2020. The new standard currently has not yet been published in the EU Official Journal as a harmonized standard. Before the new standard comes into force（including the interim period followed）, the current version will continue to be adopted as a harmonized standard for certifying compliance with the safety requirements of the EU Toy Safety Directive(TSD) 2009/48/EC.

The new standard has the same scope as the TSD to provide support for compliance verification to the TSD.

Compared with the current harmonized standard EN 62115:2005+A12:2015, the new version contains following major changes:

• Updated the labeling requirements for battery charger/coin battery and button battery/ transformers used for toys;

• Updated the electric strength test ,added new specified humid conditions test;

• Modified the test method for mechanical strength, the impact energy reduced from 0.7J to 0.5J, impact time reduced from 6 times to 3times;

• Added new test requirements for supply via USB connection;

• Added battery test;

• Modified the requirements for toys contains LED;

• Add new requirements for electric ride-on toys.
