VN/ViệtnamIn March 2020, The American Society for Testing Material (ASTM) published ASTM F2923-20, a new version of the Standard Specification for Consumer Product Safety for Children’s Jewelry. Compared with the previous version ASTM F2923-14, the new standard contains some major changes except some editorial amendments, summarized below:
• Clause 5, Added new referenced testing method for determining total Lead (Pb) in children’s metal/non-metal jewelry;
• Clause 9, lowered the cadmium content limit from 300ppm to 75ppm;
• Added new clause 13 to restricted 8 phthalates contained in plasticized accessible components of children’s jewelry, listed as below. Plasticized components made from plasticized plastics listed under 16 CFR § 1308.2 are exempted.
• Deleted the Annex A2.-Alternative test method

Small parts, strangulation, chemical such as phthalate, AZO, SCCPs, PAHs, total lead, cadmium are all high risk items of children product.
