European Union, USA, Canada and Australia recall 2 batches of footwear products in September 2019. The recall occurred in EU, and was caused by excessive amount of chromium (VI).
BACL lists the recall case for reference:

BACL Suggestion:
Chromium (VI) is sensitising and may trigger allergic reactions. EU REACH Annex XVII request leather articles coming into contact with the skin shall not be placed on the market where they contain chromium VI in concentrations equal to or greater than 3 mg/kg (0.0003 % by weight) of the total dry weight of the leather. BACL suggest relevant enterprises pay close attention to the above information and strengthen quality management to ensure product compliance.
