After MTCTE date postponed notice on March, 2019, TEC (Telecommunication Engineering Center) are still working on the implementation details. On July 5, 2019, TEC finally has released 3 official MoM(TEC/10/2018-TC)to launched its MTCTE Portal for official registration and 6 products covered in Phase 1, which was postponed to October 1, 2019.

The 3 official MoM are:

1. Notification for Launch of MTCTE

1) TEC has revision of MTCTE implement date from August 1,2019 to October 1, 2019. The timeline of procedure are as follow:

◆ 2019-7-5 Open MTCTE portal for registration

◆ 2019-7-9 commence acceptance of applications

◆ 2019-10-1 implements mandatory certification

2)The 6 products covered in Phase 1 are:

a. Telecom Equipment covered under SCS

◆ 2-Wire Telephone Equipment.(Executive Telephone System, NSD/ISD Payphone, Electronic Telephone Instrument, Key Telephone Systems, 2-Line Feature Phone, Coin Box Telephone, Terminals for connecting to PSTN, CLIP Phone)

◆ Modem.

◆ G3 FAX Machine.

◆ ISDN CPE.

b. Telecom Equipment covered under GCS

◆ Cordless Telephone.

◆ PABX

2. Notification for acceptance of test reports from labs accredited by ILAC signatories

TEC will accept test reports from labs accredited by ILAC signatories up to March 31, 2020.

3. Notification for revision of MTCTE procedure exemptions/relaxations

◆ Submission of test reports for few parameters shall be exempted as a relaxation to MTCTE procedure. In such cases, provision certificate shall be issued.

◆ Provisional certificate shall be valid for the period of 2 years

◆ Requirements of labeling on certified products shall be exempted for the initial of six months w.e,f. October 1,2019 as a relaxation to MTCTE procedure.
