Saudi Arabia Standards organization SASO has confirmed，that the following 3 technical regulations will be enforced and implemented through SABER platform Starting from April 1st 2019.

- Gulf Technical Regulations for Low voltage electrical equipment and appliances.

- Gulf Technical Regulations for Children's Toys.

- Technical Regulations for Lubricating Oils.

Starting January 1, 2019, the current conformity program by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization (SASO) was replaced by the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM). For this purpose, the SASO has developed the new online portal called SABER system.

The so-called SABER is an online network system tool launched by the Saudi Standards for the purpose of product registration, distribution and acquisition of a complete set of paperless office systems for compliance with the Shipment Certificate. SALEEM certification is a compliance certification assessment plan for Saudi companies.

SABER Certification Processing Process:

Stage 1: PC Certificate (Product Certificate)

1. The importer registers with the SABER system account;

2. The importer enters the requested product information into the SABER system；

3. The importer selects a certification body in the SABER system

4. Pay PC certificate fee； 

5. The certification body receives the application and contacts the importer and exporter to provide the certification documents.； 

6. The certification body submits the approved documents to the SABER system.；

7. A PC is issued and the certificate is valid for 1 year.

Stage 2: SC certificate (Shipment Certificate)

1. The importer submits an SC application to the SABER system; 

2. The certification body confirms the validity of the PC certificate； 

3. Pay SC certification fee；

4. Issue SC certificate, the certificate is only for the goods imported in this batch.
