
On 7 February 2019, The European Commission notified the WTO of its intention to identify 4-tert-butylphenol (PTBP) as a substance of very high concern of REACH.
The draft implementing decision states this is because of its endocrine disrupting properties whose effects to the environment give rise to an equivalent level of concern according to Article 57(f) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH).
The final date for comments is 60 days from notification, while the initial proposed date of adoption and entry into force was 30 June 2019.
