
IPART energy saving certification scheme is created by the government of New South Wales, Australia to provide financial incentives for reducing electricity consumption. Participants of the scheme are under an obligation to achieve the energy saving goal by installing, improving or replacing energy-saving equipment. The IPART is the administrator and supervisor of the scheme.
The current laws and the revised edition thereof are as follows:

ESS energy saving regulations are usually adjusted and updated every year, and the main changes in 2018 are shown below:
Item 1. The laws, which were amended in April, would be effective on April 20, 2018.
It mainly includes the update of the calculation method of energy saving level for the renovation of HEER domestic or small commercial lighting.
A. The revision of the definition- revising "Small Business Building" as "Small Business Site". The difference is that "Small Business Building" is judged by building grade, while "Small Business Site" is only judged by power consumption.
B. Revising the Electricity Savings Factors for LCP, and the changes are shown in the following tables.

Item 2. The laws shown below were amended in July, and would be effective on July 31, 2018
A. New descriptions were added, and relevant products shall meet the safety requirements.
B. For lighting products in public places, new energy consumption formula was added.
Item 3. The laws shown below were amended in July, and will be effective on November 1, 2018
A. The deadline to use the energy-saving formula of the 2017 edition for the energy-saving certificate of commercial lighting products is October 31, 2018. From November 1, 2018, the new energy-saving formula of the 2018 edition shall be used.
B. If the existing emergency lighting products can be maintained continuously, the upgraded products shall have the same function.
C. Adding requirements to restrict metal halide lamp and mercury vapor lamp, and the requirements only aim to indoor lighting products.
