
Following the release of the Computer Servers version 3 draft (2) on July 31, 2017, EPA again hosted a webinar on May 17, 2018. Taking the feedbacks and the opinions from all parties into consideration, the Computer Servers version 3 (final draft) was finally released in July 11, 2018. The deadline for feedback of the final draft is July 25, 2018, and the effective date is May 10, 2019. Compared with draft 2, the final draft mainly contains the following key changes:
1. EPA updated the previous definition of "Network Equipment" to "Large Network Equipment". The definition is as follows:

3. Except for item A, B and D, the item C and item E in common attribute of series models are updated, they are shown below:
4. The requirements of test configuration for series models are updated. The new requirements are as follows:
For lower-end performance configurations, the additional requirements are: the test configuration shall include storage capacity, of which the figure shall be no less than the product of the DIMM slots number and the minimum DIMM size
For high-end performance configuration, the additional requirements are: the test configuration shall include storage capacity, of which the figure shall be no less than the result of the following formula
For a typical configuration, the additional requirement is: the test configuration shall include the storage capacity, of which the figure shall be no less than the result of the following formula
5. The "Network Equipment" in the excluded product range is updated to "Large Network Equipment"
6. Formula 7 is added to calculate Effi. The formula is as follows:
7. The energy efficiency limits in the Active state mode is updated as follows:

8. The energy efficiency requirements of Idle state mode are deleted, but it still needs to be tested and reported
9. About the requirements of APAs(Auxiliary Processing Accelerators), for all computer servers sold with expansion APAs, Active State and Idle State testing shall be only conducted without any APAs installed which may be offered with the product. The testing with APA installed is not required any more; the related requirements are also removed.
10. The testing method of Energystar is updated to Version 2018
