1. How to install the test?

Standard 9.2 requires the fixed lamps need to add a metal mesh between the mounting surface and the lamp gasket in the test installation. Is it also necessary to install this gasket for recessed luminaries? If necessary, is it install outside or inside, or still on both sides of the ceiling (Figure red position)? 

2. How to determine whether the results meet the standard requirements after the test completed?

Reference standard requirements and the interpretation of OSH Resolution DSH 2051: If the product is a light that is nominally IP54 / IP20 (also mean Part A on the outside of the ceiling is IP54 and Part B on the ceiling is IP20).

※ Metal mesh gasket is not required for recessed luminaries in installation.

However, the entire product IP20 part (B) needs to be installed in an additional test box.

※ After the test completed, dust or water entering the B part is acceptable, but the water does not allow to flow into lamp.

※ According to the resolution's explanation, the IP rating of the lamp represents the dustproof and waterproof function of the lamp itself, and it can not control the installation environment in outside the lamp. The installer must ensure that the product is installed correctly.
