1.   Belarus

The use of products such as household and office equipment and televisions forced the use of Belarus for energy efficiency.

The government of Belarus has imposed a mandatory application for the energy efficiency of Belarus for products such as household and office equipment and televisions, which will be implemented on July 1, 2018

(1)   Household and office equipment (The standby and shutdown mode):

It is mandatory to apply for the energy efficiency of Belarus according to resolution NO. 849.

 Applicable standard: STB 2248-2012 (based on EU regulation 1275/2008) STB 2485-2016 (based on EU regulation 617/2013

 If there is no standby mode for the information technology equipment (such as the tablet computer and notebook computer), the manufacturer should note in the technical documents.

(2)   Television (containing a TV set with an external power supply:

According to the resolution NO. 849, it is mandatory to apply for the energy efficiency of Belarus.

Applicable standard: STB 2269-2012 (same as EU law 642/2009/ EC) STB 2279-2016 (same as EU regulation 1062/2010/ EU)

2. Brazil

ANATEL released Resolution 686

On October 13, 2017, the state administration of communications (ANATEL) issued a new regulation (Resolution 686)

The regulation will be revised to include an electromagnetic compatibility safety and electromagnetic absorption ratio which will take effect 120 days after publication.

 

3.Korea

The KATS will modify the battery code

The Korea Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) will release the revised battery code (KC62133) on October 30, 2017

Major change content:

(1)   Impact range - batteries of smart phone laptops and tablet computers

(2)   New core and battery pack test items

The units may submit an opinion revision to KATS on the battery regulations before December 28, 2017. The regulations are tentatively scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2018.

 

4. Mexico

New energy efficiency standard in Mexico, NOM -029-ener -2017

The latest energy efficiency standard for external power supply (NOM -029-ener -2017) is officially released by the Federal Official Gazette of Mexico on October 27, 2017.

The new standard (NOM -029-ener-2017) will be enforced after six months of publication and the implementation date will be April 25, 2018.

The products that have been legally sold in Mexico before being forced to sell can be sold out.

 

5. Serbia

Serbia announces new Safety regulations and EMC regulations

On July 1, 2017, the Ministry of Economy of Serbia adopted and announced the new regulations on safety and electromagnetic compatibility.

The main changes are as follows:

(1)   The new version of electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage instruction certificate (CoC) is valid for 3 years to 5 years.

(2)   The following equipment no longer needs to apply for EMC CoC:

Not equipped with a charger or power supply, and only the electronic equipment that can be replaced or connected to a computer and powered by a computer.

The computer components without power equipment.

Products belonging to the range of mechanical safety instructions (except for portable electric tools for household or similar purposes).

The products that meet the basic requirements of EMC regulations and through other verification procedures.

 

6.Thailand

TISI will conduct mandatory safety certification for mobile power sources.

The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (Thai Industrial Standards Institute-TISI) will put mobile power on the standard of safety control: TIS 2879-25xx (20XX) (because it is still in the draft phase, it has not yet published standard coding)

(1)   Controlled Applications:

7.Vietnam

MIC issued new Circular Circular 18/2017/BTTTT

The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist Republic of vietnam-mic issued a new Circular (Circular 18/2017/BTTTT), announcing the application of the test technology legislation applicable to the electromagnetic compatibility of wireless broadband equipment (QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT).

The new standard (QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT) and the existing standard (QCVN 18:2014 /BTTTT) will be applicable to the following product categories as well as test specifications for the certification of electromagnetic compatibility for products:

(1) 2.4GHz wireless devices with spread spectrum technology;

(2) Wireless devices working in the range of 5150 MHz to 5350 MHz,5470 MHz to 5725 MHz and 5725 MHz to 5850 MHz;

(3) Wireless devices working in the 57-66 GHz band;

(4) BWA/WiMAX devices with TDD and FDD technology
