Publisher:Admin  Source:  Date:2017/10/25

The US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) voted 3-2 to finalise a regulation banning certain phthalates in children’s toys and child care articles products on 18 October 2017. The new rule makes the current interim prohibition on DINP permanent and changes the scope of regulation of DINP, deletes the interim prohibition on DNOP and DIDP, and adds four additional phthalates (DIBP, DPENP, DHEXP, and DCHP) to the permanently banned list. The rule will take effect 180 days after publication in the Federal Register.

The highlights of the new rule and a comparison with the existing requirements under CPSIA are summarised in the follow table.
