On June 2017, the European Commission Rapid Alert System (RAPEX) published a total of 54 recall notifications on children’s products （weekly report 24-27）, thereinto, 45 recalls are for toys, which has always been at the top of the most notified products. Also, there includes 7 recalls for children’s clothing and fashion items, 1 recall for childcare articles and children cosmetics each.

The potential danger of toys mainly came from the restricted chemicals, small parts which may lead to choking, and noise that may create damages to hearing. Besides, the risk of strangulation and burning always presented on children’s clothing and fashion items, the only recall case of the childcare articles is due to the releasing of small parts. The children’s cosmetic is dangerous due to the contents of restricted hazardous chemicals .The map as below:

RAPEX: abbreviation of The Rapid Alert System which enables quick exchange of information between European countries and the European Commission about dangerous non-food products posing a risk to health and safety of consumers.

The RAPEX system relies on the close cooperation between the European Commission and the member state regulators, put forward the preventive or restrictive measures on consumer products which may bring serious risk to the health and safety, Such measures can be implemented by regulatory agencies (such as Ban on the marketing ), and / or by the operator (such as withdrawal or recall from consumers from the market).
