INMETRO Introduction
INMETRO is a mandatory certification in Brazil. There are mandatory and voluntary certification for Brazilian certification system, product in the mandatory list must be certificated, only when they have INMETRO mark are allowed to enter the Brazilian market.
LED Light is in the Mandatory List
On March 13, 2015, INMETRO published notice no. 144, and listed LED bulbs, LED tubes in the mandatory list. The notice took effect immediately. The notice no. 389 is about the EMC, safety and energy efficiency requirements for the product that export and intended to export to Brazil. It required that after December 13, 2015 all products in the mandatory list must be certified by INMETRO.
