On July 18, 2016, EU notified World Trade organisation (WTO) of Circular G/TBT/N/EU/396 to publish a Draft Commission Regulation amending Appendix C of Annex II of Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the safety of toys, as regards bisphenol A (BPA).

In Appendix C to Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC, in the table, the entry for bisphenol A is replaced by the following:

Proposed date of entry into force: Second quarter of 2018
