On Jun 30, 2016,the Standards Australia released toys safety standard:

Safety of toys -Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties (AS/NZS 8124.1:2016 );

Safety of toys -Part 2: Flammability (AS/NZS 8124.2:2016 );

Safety of toys -Part 3: Migration of certain elements (AS/NZS 8124.3:2012/Amdt 1:2016 ).

The standard of safety of toy, part 1 and part 2 are an adoption with national modifications and has been reproduced from ISO 8124-1:2014 and ISO 8124-2:2014.

Significant technical changes between AS/NZS 8124.1:2016 and the previous version 2013:

1.Added and amended some definition, e.g. add "arrow", "dart", Amended "projectile" ;

2.New requirement for bath toy projections and design guidelines;

3.Amended the requirement for projectile toys, e.g. using a new gauge to evaluate the tips or leading edges on rigid projectiles; mouth-actuated projectile toys;

4. New requirement for rotors and propellers Projectiles, list the exemptions & examples of good design.
