On 21 April 2026, the European Commission approved and published the Regulation (EU) 2026/859 to add the new Entry 83 to Annex XVII to the EU REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, which restricts 2,4-dinitrotoluene (2,4-DNT, CAS No. 121-14-2) in articles to be placed on the EU market. The amendment shall enter into force on 11 May 2026 and apply on 10 May 2027.

In Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, the following entry is added:
