On October 3, 2025, the Official Journal of the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2025/1988 adding a new entry 82 in Annex XVII to REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 for restriction on Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in firefighting foams. This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

In Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, the following entry is added:
