On 27 June 2025, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2025/718 to amend Annex I to Persistent organic Pollutants Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 as regards the entry of perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and PFOS-related compounds. The amendment shall enter into force on 17 July 2025 and apply from 3 December 2025.

The requirements for perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and PFOS-related compounds are modified as follows:
