On October 2, Mexico's IDFT officially published the modifications to the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on approved products, equipment, devices or apparatus intended for telecommunications or broadcasting."
The main modifications are:
Article 5 Updated
The IFT Seal must be printed, digitized or reproduced in 100% positive black, 100% negative black, 100% positive gray or 100% negative gray, ensuring the greatest contrast to make it clearly visible, respecting the protection areas and minimum dimensions of printing, digitization or reproduction.
Article 6 Updated
In the physical and/or electronic marking or labeling of the approved Products, the IFT Seal must be included, in addition to the prefix "IFT" in capital letters and the Approval Certificate number provided for in the Thirty-eighth guideline of the Approval Guidelines.
The holder of a Certificate of Approval and, where applicable, subsidiaries, affiliates and importers may use the vertical or horizontal version of the marking or labeling elements (IFT Seal, IFT prefix in capital letters and Certificate of Approval number) on approved Products, respecting the minimum dimensions of printing, digitalization or reproduction of the IFT Seal.
Article 8 Updated
In the event that the Product is so small that it is not possible to display the marking or labeling physically on the Product or on its box or packaging, nor can it be displayed electronically on the Product, it must be displayed physically in its manual or, where appropriate, in the electronic manual as indicated in the Thirty-eighth guideline of the Approval Guidelines.
The amendment to the guidelines will come into force on 1 July 2025.
