SASO Energy Efficiency Label Amendments!

The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality organization (SASO) has published a reminder regarding the criteria for applying or renewing the “Energy Efficiency Labels”, as follows: 


1. Starting from June 30th, 2023, the applications shall be only submitted through the accounts of manufacturers or importers.

2. The Energy Efficiency Label Department at SASO continues receiving transfer applications for “Energy Efficiency Labels” from a third-party account to the manufacturer’s account

3.  The addition of suppliers will be limited to the accounts of manufacturers only.

4.  For the transfer of applications to the supplier accounts is only allowed in the following cases:

- If the supplier owns the brand and there is no other importer involved in the supply chain.

- If the manufacturer does not have an activated account, the supplier can submit the application on behalf of the manufacturer with declaration and authorization from the manufacturer.


Note: Starting from January 1st, 2024, all accounts not belonging to manufacturers or importers will be deleted.
