On July 13, 2023, The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil published Ato no. 9281 which updates the technical requirements for Smart TV Box conformity assessment. The requirements have been expanded and now incorporate the Conformity Assessment process, which checks for the presence of any software or applications that enable the violation of the copyright of audiovisual works by providing undue access to audiovisual content.

This Act is now in effect, and will be mandatory starting from September 11, 2023.
