The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam has published Circular 04/2023/TT-BTTTT, which will replace Circular 02/2022/TT-BTTTT.

Below are the main points:

1. List of new standards:

● QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT – RF EMC Standard for Wireless Audio Devices

● QCVN 131:2022/BTTTT – RF Standard for EUTRA NB-IoT

● QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT – Safety Standard for Tablets, Desktop and Laptop Computers, DECT Phone, Set Top Box, and Televisions (This standard will be mandatory starting January 1, 2024)

● QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT – RF EMC Standard for Radar 76-77 GHz and 5G

2. QCVN 65:2013/BTTTT will be invalid, and QCVN 65:2021/BTTTT will be mandatory.

3. NFC 13.56MHz, SRD 5.8GHz has been moved to Annex 2. Only Declaration of Conformity will be mandatory.

4. 5G NR devices must support both SA and NSA. Type approval certificates for 5G devices which only have 5G SA or 5G NSA will still be valid until June 30, 2024.

According to the new Circular, type approval certificates must be updated to the new standard and get test reports for the new Safety or EMC standards. The new Circular will be effective starting from July 15, 2023.
