On June 1 , 2023 , China Quality Certification Center ( CQC) issued the " Notice on Relevant Requirements for the Implementation of the New Standard GB 17625.1-2022 for Voluntary Certification of Lighting Electrical Products ".

Notification Details

The standard GB 17625.1-2022 "Electromagnetic compatibility—Limits—Part 1:Limits for harmonic current emissions(equipment input current ≤16 A per phase)" (hereinafter referred to as "the new standard") has been Released on 2022-12-29, it will be implemented on July 1, 2024 and replace GB 17625.1-2012 (hereinafter referred to as the "old standard"). In order to ensure the effective implementation of certification, China Quality Certification Center (English abbreviation CQC) now clarifies the revision of the implementation rules and the relevant requirements for the implementation of the new version of the standard as follows:

From the date of issuance of this notice to June 30, 2024, enterprises can voluntarily choose to implement certification in accordance with the new version of the standard or the old version of the standard. From July 1, 2024, the new version of the standard shall be used for certification and the new version of the standard certification shall be issued, and the old version of the standard certification shall no longer be issued.

2. For products that have been certified according to the old version of the standard, the holder of the old version of the standard certification certificate should submit an application for converting the new version of the standard certification certificate to the CQC Center before the end of the first follow-up inspection after the implementation of the standard. The main differences and tests of the new and old version of the standard It is required to refer to the "Technical Resolution on the Implementation of GB 17625.1-2022 Standard Version Certification Implementation" by the TC10 Technical Expert Group of the Certification and Accreditation Administration. The conversion of all old standard certification certificates should be completed by June 30, 2025 at the latest; if it is not completed within the time limit, the CQC Center will suspend the old standard certification certificates; For certificates that have not been converted by September 30, 2025, the CQC Center will revoke the old standard certificates.

3. For certified products that have been shipped, put on the market and no longer produced before July 1, 2024, no certificate conversion is required.

4. The requirements for the implementation of the new version of the standard for the voluntary certification of (010 Lighting Appliances/004 Lighting Appliance Accessories) in this announcement do not exempt the relevant products from the responsibility of complying with the relevant provisions of the Standardization Law of the People's Republic of China.

5. All relevant designated laboratories should report to the CQC Center as soon as possible the situation of the testing capabilities of the new version of the standard, and should promptly report the qualification and accreditation of the laboratory that has passed the new version of the standard.

6. From now on, the CQC Center will begin to accept the certification application for the new version of the standard. Enterprises can submit the certification application through the official website of China Quality Certification Center (www.cqc.com.cn).
