Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization (SASO) recently announced that the scope of products controlled by technical regulations will be expanded, and the newly added product categories involve packaging, food safety in tools and appliance used in kitchen, personal protective equipment, textiles, building materials, auto parts, Machinery Safety, low-voltage electrical equipment and Telecommunications equipment, etc., the specific products are as follows:

●Food Safety in Tools and Appliance Used in Kitchen

●Personal Protective Equipment and Clothing

●Auto Spare Parts

●Machinery Safety

●Telecommunications

●Low voltage Electrical Equipments

From June 1, 2023, newly added regulated products must meet the requirements of relevant Saudi technical regulations and obtain the corresponding certificate of conformity in the SABER platform before they can enter the Saudi market smoothly.
