On 2023-04-18, the EU issued a new Energy Efficiency Regulation (EU) 2023/826 for off mode, standby mode and network standby mode. The new energy efficiency Regulation came into force in 2023-05-09 and will be enforced after 2025-05-09. The old Energy Efficiency Regulation (EC) No 1275/2008 will be expired after 2025-05-09.

The major updates to the new regulation are as follows:

1.The new regulation combines the related requirements of (EC) No. 1275-2008 and (EU) No 801/2013, and includes the requirements of the off mode, standby mode and networked standby mode.

2.Updated the scope, removed the washing machine, dish washing machine, cooking, television sets, and added the adjustable furniture and motor-operated building elements.

3. Updated the limit of the offer mode: the limit is 0.50W (before 2027-05-09) and 0.30W (after 2027-05-09).

4. Updated the limit of the standby mode: for the standby mode with the information or status display (except for household tumble driers), the limit of power consumption is changed from 1.0W to 0.8W. The limit of household tumble driers is 1.00W.

5.Updated the limit of the networked standby mode: the limit of HiNA equipments (or equipments with HiNA functionality) is 8.00W (before 2027-05-09) and 7.00W (after 2027-05-09), for other equipments, the limit is 2.00W.
