January 31, 2023,Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is releasing the Final Draft, Version 4.0 ENERGY STAR Computer Server specification,EPA thanks stakeholders for the feedback that they have provided and has taken that feedback into consideration in developing this final draft specification. The effective date for this specification will be January 12, 2024.
The final draft version 4.0 is updated from version 3.0 below:
Updated 1:
Add two product type: Storage Heavy Server (SHS) and Hyperconverged Server.
Note: Storage devices in SHS converged Server must be internal storage devices.
However, Hyperconverged Server will not be included in Energy Star authentication list.
Storage Heavy Server (SHS): A computer server with greater storage capacity than a standard computer server. As shipped, these computer servers support 30 or more storage devices. These servers differ from Storage Products in that they run computer server operating systems and software stacks.
Hyperconverged Server: A highly integrated server which contains the additional features of large network equipment and storage products.
Update 2:
Updated energy efficiency requirements for PSU;
Version3.0 required the same energy efficiency requirements for all outputs:

Version 4.0 limits power output to 750W to define different energy efficiency requirements:

Update 3:
Updated and enhanced requirements for active state efficiency thresholds for computer servers.
Version3.0 required active state efficiency thresholds for all computer servers:

Active state efficiency thresholds requirements for non-SHScomputer servers in version 4.0.

About BACL:
BACL is the Energy Star testing laboratory, certification body, and verification testing laboratory accredited by the EPA. At the same time we obtain the authorization and recognition of NVLAP (Lab Code: 200707-0), IAS (Accreditation No.: PCA-139, TL-1044, AA-797), CNAS (Registration No.: L2408, L5662, L6290, L9963, L11432, IB0343), A2LA(Certificate No.: 3297.01, 3297.02, 3297.03), and so on. Respectively have testing sites in US, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Kunshan, such places. With the ability to complete the energy efficiency aging detection of 60,000 lights at the same time. BACL is currently a large-scale energy efficiency testing laboratory in China.
We can provide you with testing and certification service, such as US Energy Star, DLC, DOE, CEC Title20, CEC Title24, LDL, FTC Label, European Union ErP, Canada NRCan, UK EST, Australia GEMS/VEET/IPART, Energy Efficiency Label ELI, Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Label and etc.
