On March 17, 2023, The Telecommunications, Radiocommunications & Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR) in Vanuatu announced two major news:

1. Devices that only have Bluetooth are exempted from the local importer permit requirement ;

2. Manufacturers of devices with only Bluetooth, and devices with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functionality will still require mandatory type approval prior to importing this equipment into the country.
