Last year , the Saudi Arabia Standards, SASO issued an official circular to all conformity assessment agencies, according to the Saudi Government Gazette (Umm Al- Qura Gazzite). The revision of some national mandatory standards for electrical appliances mentioned in Document No. 4896, the water storage electric water heater/room heater/wire extension component standard was revised and updated. In October this year, the standard extension was announced again, specifically and the list is as follows:

Therefore, according to the requirements of the latest announcement, it is necessary to prepare for the update before March 1, 2023, and start using the new technical requirements and corresponding documents after that.

At the same time, it should be noted that from June 1, 2023, because Saudi Arabia adopts mandatory requirements, related products will no longer accept the notification of products with the old version of the standard.

From August 1, 2024, if there is still a situation similar to the old version, the corresponding electrical appliances will be prohibited from being sold in the Saudi Arabian market.
