On October 28, 2022，IEC 62722-2-1:2022 specifies the performance requirements for LED luminaires, together with the test methods and conditions. It applies to LED luminaires for general lighting purposes. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2014.

This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition：

The test time is consistent with IEC 62717, with the 2000 hours option removed. Products containing modules that do not comply with IEC 62717 are now subject to 6000 hours of testing。

The test sample size has been modified and valid statistics need to be provided。

The temperature reduction of 10°C for street lights and floodlights was cancelled。

The life definition has been updated and meets the requirements of IEC 62717。
