In early November 2022, The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) issued two updates on MTCTE certification as follows:

(1) Change of authentication method

From January 1, 2023, the product certification method in the following table will be converted from "General Certification Scheme (GCS)" to "Simple Certification Scheme (SCS)". According to TEC's "Testing and Certification Procedures Specification", SCS has the advantages of lower certification fees and cycle times.

(2) Further Exemption of Energy Consumption Rating (ECR) parameter in PON ERs

TEC confirmed further exemption of ECR parameter for PON (Passive Optical Network) ERs (Essential Requirements) as below table:
