India Confirmed Exemption for PON Devices !

On August 10, 2022, the Telecommunications Engineering Center (TEC) of India issued a notice to exempt some test items of "PON Family of Broadband Equipment" (Passive Optical Network, passive optical network equipment) in MTCTE certification, as follows:

(1) ALS (Automatic Laser Shut-Down) or APSD (Automatic Power Shut-Down), corresponding to the standard "ITU-T G.664. IEC 60825. Annex-A1", can now accept the applicant's self-declaration;

 

(2) ECR (Energy Consumption Rating), corresponding to the standard "TEC 74046 Annex-R", unless otherwise notified, this test item is exempted until December 31, 2022;

 

(3) For the protocol test of any PON interface, refer to the various test standards listed in the PON ER (Essential Requirements) document. Unless otherwise notified, this test item is exempted until February 9, 2023.

 

Please note that the devices of the PON series are products of MTCTE certification stage 2, which are currently under mandatory certification.
