On July 13, 2022, Malaysia’s SuruhanjayaTenaga (ST) issued Regulation 98 which regulates the products certificate owner for ST regulated products.

The main points are:

1. The certificate holder for ST regulated products have to be local company with valid CoA and CoR.

2. Only registered agent or consultant registered by CoA holder can conduct the process on behalf of them.

3. Transfer of ownership shall be agreed by both parties (i.e., Foreign Licensee and ST CoA holder)

This new regulation is effective immediately.
