EU Proposes to Add MCCPs and TBBP-A under RoHS Annex II !

On 20 May 2022, The European Commission has published a Delegated Directive proposes to add tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) to the list of restricted substances under RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU). This delegated directive plans to be adopted in the fourth quarter 2022.


As early as March 2021, the final reports of the EU RoHS Pack 15 project have been published on Oeko-Institut RoHS website, recommending tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) for restriction under EU RoHS. Highlights of the 2 proposed substances as below:
