Brazil's National Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality Association, INMETRO issued ordinance 148/2022 on March 28, It provides a detailed legal basis for the conformity assessment process and related requirements of household appliances and similar products,Replace original ordinance 371/2009.

The implementation date of the new regulations: May 2, 2022

Transition between old and new versions:

If the product of the old or.371 has been certified, it shall be updated according to the requirements of section 6.1.1.6 of the new regulation of or.148/2022 in the next annual maintenance phase.

For new applications, ord.148/2022 is required and the certificate is valid for 6 years.
