On May 9, 2022, The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing in India has published Gazette G.S.R. 347(E), “The Use of Low Power Radio Frequency Devices in the frequency band 433.05-434.79 MHz (Exemption from License) Rules, 2022”. In previous Gazettes, the occupied bandwidth limit was restricted to 10 kHz, which impacted importation of devices and made it difficult to obtain ETA Certificate. With the implementation of this new gazette, there is no restriction on the bandwidth limit and manufacturers may apply for ETA Certificate for devices operating in the 433.05-434.79 MHz frequency band. Existing ETA Certificates remain valid and it is not required to apply for new certification.
