CEC Title 24 2022 Building Lighting Energy Efficiency Regulations will be implemented soon:
On 9 March 2022, CEC issued a new draft regulation. California's Energy Code (CEC Title 24) aims to reduce waste and unnecessary energy consumption in new and existing buildings. The California Energy Commission updates the Building efficiency standard Title 24 every three years by working with stakeholders in an open and transparent process. The latest building energy efficiency regulation, CEC Title 24 2022 will be published and implemented soon. The new regulation is an improvement on the 2019 Energy Regulation and mainly applies to new, addition and alteration requirements for residential and non-residential buildings. Seminars will be held to introduce the changes and solicit public comment, and the CEC plans to issue a final rule in July 2022, with an effective date of January 1, 2023.
