SASO Published Guidelines for the RoHS Technical Regulation

Saudi Arabia standards, metrology and quality organization (SASO) published guidelines for Saudi Arabia RoHS technical regulation recent. RoHS regulation in Saudi Arabia aims to limit the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The guideline outlines the conformity assessment procedures for the products covered by the technical regulation, clarify and refine the RoHS regulations.

SASO opted to phase the implementation of the regulation. The first product category implementation will be on July 4, 2022. The details are as follows:

In addition, Substances exempted from the application of hazardous materials restrictions for Saudi Arabia RoHS regulations are described and enumerated in detail in Appendix B of the Technical Guidelines.
