On Dec. 23, 2021, The Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) of Peru has published Draft Resolución No. 1328-2021-MTC/01.03. This draft resolution proposes to establish a requirement that cellular telephones with FM receivers have to keep this functionality active, and would permit the population to access FM broadcasting on cellular telephones for recommendations, advice, and other information associated with emergencies or disasters. The draft is open for public comment until February 9, 2022.
