On November 18, 2021, India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power issued the notifications for extending the validity of the existing energy efficiency standards-based ratings for TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, washing machine and microwave oven. Below is the summary:

If the manufacturer wishes to extend the validity period of the energy efficiency label of the approved product model, they must fill the specified form and submit samples to BEE before December 23, 2021.

Energy-saving labeling for washing machine and microwave oven (along with chiller) was initially scheduled to become mandatory in 2022. However, this new regulation states that it will be postponed to 2023.
