Rwanda RURA Regulate the Frequency Bands

On May 4, 2021, Rwanda Utilities and Regulatory Authority (RURA) published Regulation No. 014/R/SM-ICT/RURA/2021. The Regulation determines the terms and conditions governing the use of unlicensed and light licensing in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 60 GHz for the deployment of mobile and fixed broadband services.


The following bands are considered unlicensed bands with technical parameters specified in the Regulation:

2.4-2.483GHz, 5.15-5.35GHz, and 57-62GHz.

 

The following bands are considered as light licensed with technical parameters specified in the Regulation:

5.47-5.725 MHz, 5.725-5.850 GHz and 62-66GHz
