On November 26, 2021, Malaysian authority SIRIM QAS International announced that currently, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is reviewing the possible use of 6 GHz frequency band for Wi-Fi. Thus, certification of the 6 GHz Wi-Fi is prohibited with immediate effect.

The applicant for type approval must ensure that the 6 GHz frequency is disabled on devices supporting this frequency prior to application, which is verified by the SIRIM RF&EMC laboratory.

However, certification and importation of Devices operating in 6 GHz frequency band under Special Approval (Company and Individual (SA & CL)) are not permitted until further notice.
