On October 20, 2021, the BIPT (Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications) has published a decision laying down the technical conditions (via radio interfaces) for the placing on the Belgian market of Wi-Fi equipment in a new radio frequency band on 6 GHz. That Wi-Fi 6E (“extended”) offers a higher bit rate, a shorter response time and a better connection management in case of high user density, such as for public hotspots.
